About Us

The property was purchased in 1981 by Mason Lee Murkerson, Judy Murkerson and their children Jason and Stacie. At the time of the purchase the land was not cleared. With many hours, lots of blood, sweat and tears the Murkerson family cleared the property and began building many of the facilities we still have today.

Mason loved horses, therefore so did his family. He raised all of his children to be hard workers and love animals of all kinds. Mason had 54 head of horses on the property when he passed away from cancer in 2006. His horses were his love and passion not his job. He took pride in his horses and loved working around the house. Mason taught his family most everything he knew, he loved to talk about the horses and his way of breeding, raising, training and caring for them. Mason and Judy installed their passion into their son Jason who now maintains the property alongside his mother Judy, girlfriend Jamie and daughters Lauren, Megan and Kiley.

The Murkerson family owns Aggressive Signs on Beaver Street where they have been apart of the North Florida community for more then 20 years. Aggressive signs server their community with top quality products and superior customer service. Their commitment is to honesty, quality and producing their products in a timely manor that is convenient for their customers. They offer full-service signage options that you will not find anywhere else in North Florida. Aggressive Signs has allowed the Murkerson family to work at the shop and play with the horses when they aren’t at work.

Jamie grew up in Jacksonville and Fleming Island. Her parents bought her first pony for her when she was four years old. Jamie kept Barney until he was in his late 20’s when her father gave him to another family with a young girl who was passionate about horses like she is. She didn’t have the pleasure of growing up with horses of her own in her teen years but was very close with her neighbors and their horses. She spent much of my time with their two quarter horses. She graduated from University Christian School in 2002 and went on to graduate from Celebration Leadership College with an Associates in Biblical Studies in 2008 and an Associates in Arts from Florida State College of Jacksonville in 2009. She now has the pleasure of staying home with their three daughters and spending most of her time with the horses.

We have many horses of our own. 4 AQHA Mares who's names are Desired Silk, Dittos Alarm, Rawhides Super Chic, and Dreamy Success. We also have a quarter horse gelding whose name is Billy Black, a paint gelding whose name is Duke and our newest edition born on March 20, 2010 a little colt who we have named Outlaw born to Dreamy Success. The other 3 mares are due any day now.

We decided in 2009 that since we no longer have 54 head of horses but still have lots of property that we wanted to share our passion with equine community in Jacksonville. We boarded our first horse on December 11th, 2009 and learned a lot about the boarding industry since. On February 15th, 2010 we purchased the name Aggressive Stables, LLC. We look forward to many years of providing a family style equine environment to our community.

Now you have learned a little bit about our family and we would like to learn about yours. We look forward to meeting you soon!
